‘MOON + TEMPLE,’ A CREATIVE DINING POP-UP: MOON AND TURTLE, POKE MARKET & SHUN CERAMICS

MOON + TEMPLE’ was a one-night collaborative event to bring the Hilo community together through remarkable food and art and highlight Big Island provisions. 

This locally sourced seafood-forward dinner was a collaboration between Chef Mark Pomaski (Moon and Turtle) and Chef Ernie Gray (Poke Market) and included a progressive 5-course set menu featuring seasonal Big Island fare and drink pairings by Soni Pomaski. The dinner reflected the 5 cooking styles in Japanese cuisine: Raw, Steamed, Grilled, Fried, and Simmered, and each course was presented on custom Shun Tsukazaki Ceramics, designed with that course in mind.
